About Us

We were blessed with two wonderful children, Katie and Charlie. We were living a dream. But then our dreams shattered to pieces on May 10, 2021. Katie died by suicide, just weeks before her 17th birthday. Many factors contributed to this horrible and irreversible day, but she was deeply troubled by the social injustice she saw in the world, inundated with negativity through social media during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We established The Katie Macdonald Foundation  for a Better World to honour Katie's memory, to remember her and her desire for a better world. A world in which everyone feels like they belong and treats each person with kindness, compassion and fairness.
